"He who dares to teach must never cease to learn." – Anonymous
Ms. Blaisdell strongly believes that teaching is about each student and the objective that must be met in order to reach the needs of every student. Blaisdell believes in each student at Apache Trial High School and embraces every opportunity to reach the future goals of each one of her students.
Outside of the classroom, Ms. Blaisdell enjoys many different types of activities. Having grown up in New York, her favorite leisure interest is skiing. She has been skiing since she was old enough to walk, and has skied in many places; her favorite was Switzerland while she backpacked, twenty days, through Europe. Having traveled through 16 different countries and lived in Ireland for six months, it was in Ireland that Ms. Blaisdell made her decision to become an English teacher. Blaisdell was doing research for her psychology degree when she had a chance to work with under privileged children. She was charged with teaching them grammar and American literature; Blaisdell was hooked on teaching from then on.
Following her stint in Ireland Blaisdell went back to New York and finished her psychology degree at Niagara University, and began working towards a degree in English at Buffalo State University. The snow was getting too much to bear in New York for Blaisdell, so she decided that after graduation that she was going to move from New York, to Arizona to attend Arizona State University. Ms. Blaisdell earned her teaching certification in the fall of 2005, and has been working with the wonderful students of Apache Trail High School for four years! Currently she is traversing the road to her masters degree in curriculum and instruction.
